How many people fit in the Veur Theater?
The Veur Theater seats 101 people in its main hall. No standing capacity is published, and there is no second auditorium of comparable size: Zaal Backstage is a meeting and events room of more than 105 m² without a published seat count.
The 101 seats are unnumbered, and you choose your own. The theatre does not publish a separate seat count for Zaal Backstage, which is used for meetings, receptions and events rather than as a second theatre hall.
For scale, the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague seats 680 and the Circustheater in Scheveningen 1852. A full Veur Theater is therefore an intimate audience, not a large hall.

Wheelchair places
Book by email at [email protected]
Because seating is free, arriving earlier gives you more choice. You pick a place on arrival rather than at booking, so there is no seat map to choose from when you buy a ticket.
For a wheelchair place, book a ticket as usual and email [email protected] to say that you need a wheelchair place or a place for someone who is less mobile. For a place for a hard-of-hearing or visually impaired visitor, or for other access needs, call or WhatsApp 070 30 000 13.
There are no numbered rows or seat levels to book. For the closest view, choose a seat near the front; for an easy exit during the interval, choose an aisle seat. Arriving early gives you the widest choice.
- Arrive early for the widest choice of seats; the main hall has no seat reservation.
- Book a normal ticket, then email [email protected] for a wheelchair place or a place for a less mobile visitor.
- For a hard-of-hearing or visually impaired place, call or WhatsApp 070 30 000 13.
- For the closest view, sit near the front; for an easy exit, choose an aisle seat.
Eating before a show at the Veur Theater
The theatre dinner is served in the upper foyer before most evening shows, and it gives you earlier access to the hall. The downstairs theatre café is the alternative for visitors who are less mobile or when it is busy.
Book the dinner and give your choice of starter, if you want one, and main course; the theatre asks for those choices when you reserve, or at the latest the day before. You can choose a dessert from the menu on the night if there is time before the show. Before film evenings the theatre serves a special theatre buffet.
Most performances include a free drink from a limited selection. If there is no interval, you get it after the show; some performances have different conditions.

About the Veur Theater
The Veur Theater is an intimate 101-seat stage in the former Gereformeerde Kerk on the Damlaan in Leidschendam, run by an independent foundation since 2014.
The church was designed in 1908 by architect G.J.P. Klumper and later became Theater Camuz. Since 2014 Stichting het Veur Theater has run the building as a theatre, without a profit motive and with cultural ANBI status.

The Veur Theater: a 1908 church turned theatre
The Veur Theater occupies the former Gereformeerde Kerk on the Damlaan, designed in 1908 by G.J.P. Klumper. It later became Theater Camuz, and since 2014 the independent Stichting het Veur Theater has run it.
The name Veur comes from the former municipality that existed until 1938. The church was built for the Gereformeerde Kerk; the theatre's own history page traces the conversion and the name change.
The foundation runs the theatre without profit and with cultural ANBI status. It focuses on emerging talent and also books well-known names; the film programme is announced once a month. The building also has a studio of about 85 m² that is rented to local associations and businesses.
Zaal Backstage has been renovated to more than 105 m², with its own entrance on the Damsteegje, a bar in the room, a 100-inch screen and a flexible layout for meetings or receptions.
