How many people fit in Veluvine?
The Nestlézaal seats just over 400 people; the Jumbozaal seats 63. Veluvine is a mid-sized regional theatre: about half the size of De Flint in Amersfoort and a third of Theater Orpheus in Apeldoorn.
- Nestlézaal
- Over 400 seats; 216 with curtains
- Jumbozaal
- 63 seats
- Stage
- Up to 12 × 10 m
- De Flint, Amersfoort
- 804 seats
- Theater Orpheus, Apeldoorn
- 1,286 seats
The main Nestlézaal has just over 400 red upholstered seats on a retractable tribune. Theatre curtains can close the back of the room to create a more intimate 216-seat hall. The stage measures up to 12 by 10 metres and has professional lighting and sound, so the room works for theatre, concerts, presentations and conferences.
The Jumbozaal is a small 'vest pocket' theatre with 63 seats, used for children's performances and film. It is a miniature of the main hall, with the audience close to the action.
For comparison, De Flint in Amersfoort seats 804 in its AFAS Theaterzaal and Theater Orpheus in Apeldoorn seats 1,286 in its Hanoszaal. Veluvine's 400-seat hall sits between an intimate village stage and a big-city theatre.

Seating at Veluvine: two halls, one choice
Choose the Nestlézaal for theatre, concerts and presentations, and the Jumbozaal for film and children's shows. The venue publishes a floor plan for both.

Published for both halls
In the Nestlézaal the seats are red and upholstered, arranged on a retractable tribune. The full room holds just over 400; with the theatre curtains closed it becomes a 216-seat room. The stage is up to 12 metres wide and 10 metres deep.
The Jumbozaal has 63 seats and is described by the venue as a small copy of the main theatre: an intimate room where the audience is close to the stage, used for children's and film performances.
The venue does not publish a best-seat guide, but its floor plans show the layout of both rooms, so you can see where the seats are before booking. For film, the smaller Jumbozaal is the natural choice; for a concert or a large theatre show, book the Nestlézaal.
- For film and children's shows, choose the Jumbozaal; for theatre and concerts, the Nestlézaal.
- Need a wheelchair space or extra help? Book through the service desk on 0341 - 442000.
- Children can borrow a booster seat in the hall; the supply is limited, and an own car booster is allowed if they run out.
- The hall opens about 15 minutes before the start, so arrive with time to find your seat.
Food and drink at Veluvine
The café-bar in the foyer serves hot and cold drinks and a changing borrelkaart before and after the show; most tickets include a drink, except children's shows.
The bar is in the foyer just inside the entrance. It serves a wide range of hot and cold drinks and a changing borrelkaart, from a glass of wine to savoury snacks, and the team also provides catering for business events.
Most performances have an interval. For almost every performance except children's shows, a drink is included in the ticket; it is handed out during the interval or after the show, and the show page says whether it is included.
Food and drink are not allowed in the theatre or film hall. The venue asks guests to eat and drink before or after the performance in the foyer and reception areas.

- The borrelkaart is a drinks-and-snacks menu rather than a full restaurant menu.
- Business events can book catering through the venue.

Your visit: cloakroom, doors and house rules
The cloakroom is compulsory for coats and bags in the theatre and film hall, doors open about 15 minutes before the start, and latecomers may not be admitted.
- Leave large bags at home if you can; the cloakroom is compulsory, not optional.
- Use the toilet before the performance: leaving mid-show can cost you your place.
- Check the start time on your ticket; the time in the agenda is the start, not the door time.
Accessibility at Veluvine
Veluvine is accessible for wheelchair users, with bookable spaces, reserved parking by the entrance and an amplification system for digital hearing aids.
- Call 0341 - 442000 to book a wheelchair space and explain what you need.
- Bring the hearing aid you use; the loan device is collected at the box office.
- Ask for the shorter-walk parking spaces on the open-air car park if the garage is full.
Getting to Veluvine by train, bus or car
Nunspeet station is 1,820 m away. The venue's site says 15 minutes on foot, but the mapped walking route takes 25; bus 112 stops 430 m from the door.
By train, travel to Nunspeet station. From there, follow the F.A. Molijnlaan; Veluvine is on your right. The venue describes the walk as about 15 minutes, but the 1,820 m route is more realistically 25 minutes at walking pace, so allow that or take the bus.
Bus 112 connects the station with Verzorgings Bunterhoek (430 m, 6 minutes' walk), De Bunte (490 m, 7 minutes) and Gemeentehuis (800 m, 11 minutes). Buses 658 and 685 also stop at De Bunte, and at 't Hul (850 m, 12 minutes).
By car, take the A28. From Harderwijk/Utrecht use exit 14 (Nunspeet/Elspeet); from Zwolle use exit 15 (Nunspeet-Oost/Epe), then follow the signs to the F.A. Molijnlaan. The garage entrance is on the roundabout by the venue.

Parking at Veluvine: free under the building
Parking is free in Veluvine's own garage under the building and on its open-air car park; disabled spaces are closest to the entrance.
Drive to the roundabout by the venue and take the Veluvine exit; the entrance to the garage is straight ahead. If the garage is full, drive through it and up the hill, then turn left for the open-air car park.
Blue-badge holders have reserved spaces in the garage close to the entrance, and a number of shorter-walk spaces are reserved on the open-air car park. Parking is free in both.

About Veluvine Nunspeet
Veluvine is Nunspeet's cultural centre: a theatre, a film house, exhibition space and meeting and sports rooms under one roof, plus a café-bar in the foyer. It opened in 2009 and takes its name from the paint factory that once stood here.
The programme mixes theatre, concerts, cabaret, film and jazz, and the building also houses social and cultural organisations, including Nuborgh College Veluvine, a secondary school; for the school itself, go to nuborgh.nl.
For visitors the practical picture is simple: a 400-seat main hall, a 63-seat film room, free parking in the garage under the building or on the open-air car park, and a station 1,820 m away. The venue suggests 15 minutes on foot, while the mapped walking route takes 25.

From paint factory to cultural centre
Veluvine opened in 2009 on the site of the paint factory of the same name, which ended production in Nunspeet in 1974 and was demolished in 1987.
The Veluvine paint factory was a leading Dutch paint maker, known for the quality of its paint. It became part of British Paints in 1965, passed through further takeovers to Hoechst and Herberts, and production in Nunspeet ended in 1974. The characteristic factory buildings were demolished in 1987.
The municipality bought the site. In 2003 the council decided to build a multifunctional cultural centre there, and the new Veluvine opened in 2009.
Wilco Scheffer of BDG Architecten en Ingenieurs in Zwolle designed the building. Its façades combine rough hand-formed brick with smooth wire-cut brick, and the protruding stones give the walls their fine lines and changing light. The central foyer is conceived as a village square, with patios bringing daylight into the heart of the building.

Veluvine: questions visitors ask
What time do shows at Veluvine start and finish?
The exact start time is on your ticket. Most evening shows start at 20:00, film screenings at 19:30 and family matinees at 14:00. Veluvine does not publish end times. For planning, allow about two hours plus an interval, roughly 22:00-22:30 for a 20:00 show; this is an estimate, not a published time, so confirm with the venue if you have onward travel.
How many seats does Veluvine have?
The Nestlézaal has just over 400 seats, or 216 when the theatre curtains close off the back. The Jumbozaal has 63 seats and is used for film and children's shows.
Is parking at Veluvine free?
Yes. The garage under the building and the open-air car park on the same site are both free. Disabled spaces are closest to the entrance.
How do I get to Veluvine without a car?
Take the train to Nunspeet. The venue says the walk is about 15 minutes, but the 1,820 m route takes about 25; bus 112 from the station stops at Verzorgings Bunterhoek, 430 m or 6 minutes from the door.
Do I have to use the cloakroom?
Yes, in the theatre and film hall. Coats, backpacks, large bags and umbrellas must be checked; this is a condition of entry, not a service you can skip.
Can I eat or drink in the hall?
No. Food, sweets and drinks are not allowed in the auditorium; eat and drink in the foyer before or after the show. Most performances have an interval, and most non-children's tickets include a drink.
Is Veluvine wheelchair-accessible?
Yes. Book a wheelchair space through the service desk; a companion needs a valid ticket. Disabled parking is close to the entrance, and assistance dogs are welcome. The venue's amplification system for digital hearing aids needs a 20-euro deposit and a day's notice.
Can I take photos during a show?
No. Photography, video and audio recording are not allowed unless the venue announces otherwise, and phones must be switched off completely.
What if I arrive late?
Staff may not be able to admit you once the performance has started. Go to the service desk and they will decide whether entry is still possible.
Can I cancel my tickets?
Up to one week before the performance, by email to [email protected]. You get online credit for the ticket price minus a 2.50-euro fee per ticket; the credit is valid for two years, and there are no cash refunds.
Is Veluvine the same as Nuborgh College Veluvine?
No. Nuborgh College Veluvine is a secondary school housed in the same building; its open days, vacancies and lessons are separate from the cultural centre. This page covers the theatre, film house and café-bar.
Do children need their own ticket?
Yes, every visitor needs a ticket, whatever their age. Children under 6 must be with an adult, and a limited number of booster seats is available in the hall.
Are assistance dogs allowed?
Yes, assistance dogs are welcome in Veluvine.
