Seating plan

Seating at Theater ’t Mozaïek: tribune rows and wheelchair places

Most shows use the fixed tribune, where rows 1 to 3 are on the level floor and the first two rows make room for wheelchair places; a few shows have free seating instead.

Schematic seating plan: Wheelchair places, Free seating, Standing concerts, around the stageStanding concertsFree seatingWheelchair placesStage
Schematic. The organiser sets the stage position, floor blocks and sightlines for each show; your ticket seller has the seat map with numbers.
  1. Wheelchair places

Rows 1-3, booked through the box office

  2. Free seating

    Some shows, no seat plan

  3. Standing concerts

    Flat floor, limited seats

In the standard tribune setup you sit in numbered seats bought on a seat map. Rows 1, 2 and 3 are reached without stairs and hold the wheelchair and disabled places. To make room for a wheelchair the venue removes two seats from one of the first two rows, which is why those places are booked by phone or email rather than online.

Some performances are sold with free seating and no fixed hall plan, so a particular seat cannot be reserved; Sjon & Sjakkelien is one example. At a theatre-café show you sit at tables in the hall and may take a drink to your seat. At a MuziekCafé concert the tribune is replaced by a flat floor and only a limited number of seats are available, with no seat reservation.

The venue publishes no seat-by-seat view guide and no information about sight lines, legroom, a balcony or which seats are best. Seat choice therefore comes down to the seats available on the seat map and your own preference; the FAQ advises contacting the box office if you are unsure whether a particular seat is suitable.

Do I need to book a wheelchair place in advance?

Yes. Wheelchair places are in rows 1 to 3 and are booked through the box office by phone or email, not online, because the venue removes seats by hand. A stairlift takes you to the hall and an accessible toilet is on the ground floor.

Is there a cloakroom at Theater ’t Mozaïek?

Yes, there is a supervised cloakroom, and leaving your coat there is compulsory for fire safety. Buggies and pushchairs cannot go into the hall, not even at family shows.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

No. Your own food and drink are not allowed in the theatre or foyer. In the theatre-café setup you can take a drink from the bar to your table, and the MuziekCafé has a bar in the hall.

Can I take children to a show?

Yes, at family shows. The programme labels ages, from baby concerts for 0+ and family shows for 3+ to children’s shows for 4-12, and some performances are 18+. Every visitor from 0 needs a ticket, and buggies stay outside the hall.

Can I cancel my ticket?

You can cancel up to 72 hours before the performance and receive a voucher for another show. Three cancellations a season are free; after that the venue charges 4.00 euro each. Within 72 hours there is no refund.

Is Theater ’t Mozaïek the same as Podium Mozaïek in Amsterdam?

No. Theater ’t Mozaïek is in Wijchen, at Campuslaan 6, and has its own programme and ticket shop. Podium Mozaïek is a different theatre in Amsterdam; the similar name causes confusion in search results.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Tickets are sold online until five minutes before the show. If the performance is not sold out, you can also buy a ticket at the bar in the foyer before it starts.

Is the theatre accessible for people with hearing loss?

The old hearing loop was removed during the tribune renovation. The venue is investigating a replacement and asks visitors to contact the box office for support in the meantime.
