How many seats does Theater De Lampegiet have?
The Grote Zaal at Kerkewijk 10 seats 555 people, all in one auditorium. Theater De Flint in Amersfoort has 804 seats and CineMec in Ede 2,300, which puts Lampegiet in the middle-sized category.
- Grote Zaal
- 555 seats
- Professional shows
- About 130 a season
- Spectrum
- Separate hall at Kees Stipplein 72
- Planned new main hall
- 700 seats (not built)
The 555 seats are the theatre's own figure. The hall hosts around 130 professional performances a season, plus school shows, amateur theatre and rentals.
Some small-hall performances take place in Spectrum at Kees Stipplein 72. That is a separate building; those shows are not part of the 555 seats in the Grote Zaal.
A replacement theatre is planned but not built. MVRDV has published a design with a 700-seat main auditorium, a 200-seat hall and a 100-seat third hall; no final design has been presented, and the current building stays in use for now.

Wheelchair places
Box office only
The Grote Zaal is a single auditorium with 555 seats and no separate balcony. You choose your own seat when booking online; the seat map on the theatre's site shows the layout, and your booking is for that place.
The theatre does not publish sightline or legroom details per row. Use the official seat map to see the layout, and contact the box office on 0318 540 141 for accessibility seating.
For a wheelchair space or a companion seat, book through the box office: these places are not sold online. The theatre has separate places for wheelchair users and companions, and the box office can say where they are.
Spectrum at Kees Stipplein 72 is a different building. The 18 small-hall shows there this season are in a different hall, so the Grote Zaal seat map does not apply; check the hall name in the listing before you travel.
- The seat map is linked from the theatre website; seats are sold per performance.
- Seat boosters for children are available at the cloakroom.
- Wheelchair places are not sold online: call 0318 540 141 or mail [email protected].

About Theater De Lampegiet
Theater Lampegiet is Veenendaal's city theatre: one 555-seat hall at Kerkewijk 10, a broad programme and a second, smaller stage in Spectrum.
The theatre opened in 1988 and has since grown into the town's main stage for cabaret, music, theatre, family shows and school performances. It is run by Stichting Theater De Lampegiet, which continues the work of the former Culturele Raad Veenendaal.
The Grote Zaal seats 555 people. Around 130 professional performances a season sit alongside amateur productions, rentals and an education programme that brings about 5,500 primary and 1,000 secondary pupils to the theatre each year. A youth panel advises on programming for secondary-school pupils, and WijkJury members meet performers and makers.
The building is owned by the municipality of Veenendaal. A replacement theatre has been approved for the same area, but no final design has been presented. MVRDV has published a design with a 700-seat main hall, a 200-seat hall with retractable tribune and a 100-seat film and meeting hall; none of it has been built, so the current Lampegiet building remains in use for its programme; Spectrum shows are at the separate Kees Stipplein 72 address.
