Capacity and halls
The Grote Zaal seats 650 on an ascending tribune; the Harmonie seats 155 on its tribune and holds 200 standing. The Grote Zaal is the larger hall, but smaller than Theater De Stoep and Capitol in Rotterdam.
The Grote Zaal can be used with all 650 seats, with only the 300-seat lower hall, or with about 50 people on stage. The Harmonie is a flat-floor theatre: 155 on the tribune, or 200 standing with the tribune folded away. The theatre also hires out the Theater Foyer (60–200 people), the Theater Café and Lichtstraat (20–100), the Glazen Foyer (1–20) and the Huiskamer (1–12).
For a regional comparison, Theater De Stoep in Spijkenisse has 850 places and Capitol in Rotterdam 1,241, both larger than the Grote Zaal. Those are venue capacities from Wikidata, not necessarily seat counts for every setup.

In the Grote Zaal, rows 1–15 are reached step-free from the Boven Foyer and then have one step into the row. Rows 16–21 are reached by a few steps. The hall entrance is in the Boven Foyer and is served by a lift; the balcony is not, and needs another staircase.
The Harmonie entrance is at the bottom of the tribune, and every row goes up by stairs. Visitors who are less mobile are advised to book as close to the stage as possible. Rows 1–5 are closest to the performers; because the Grote Zaal tribune rises, higher rows look down on the stage. The balcony gives the widest view but is stairs-only.
Food and drink
There is no restaurant in the theatre. The bar opens before and after the show and serves drinks and small snacks; at many performances a drink is included. Four partner restaurants are 3–4 minutes' walk away.
The bar has soft drinks and small snacks such as crisps, biscuits and chocolate. At many performances one drink is included in the ticket and is ready in the interval, or after the show when there is no interval. You may not bring your own food or drink, and glass may not go into the hall.
The theatre works with restaurants in the neighbourhood that support it. Reserve and say you are going to the theatre, so they can get you out in time. The partners are Delphi (Greek, Smalle Havenstraat 2, 4 min), D'Oude Stoep (café with live music, Smalle Havenstraat 5, 4 min), Het Hart van Vlaardingen (Hoogstraat 169, 3 min) and Flynn's Steaks & Bites (Hoogstraat 167, 3 min).

Getting there
The theatre is in a residential part of Vlaardingen, a 1-minute walk from the Stadsgehoorzaal bus stop and 10 minutes from Vlaardingen Centrum metro. There is no mainline station in Vlaardingen; Schiedam Centrum is the nearest, reached by bus 126.
Bus 56, 126, 156, N2 and 826 stop at Stadsgehoorzaal (50 m), Liesveldviaduct (260 m) and Verploegh Chasséplein (440 m). Bus 56 and 156 run between metrostation Vlaardingen West and Holy Noord through the centre; bus 126 runs between Schiedam Centrum and Maassluis West. Tram 24 connects Rotterdam Centraal and Schiedam Centrum with Vlaardingen-Holy, where you change to bus 56 or 156 for the centre.
From Rotterdam Centraal the night bus N2 runs directly to the three stops near the theatre. Cycling is encouraged: there are free unattended bike racks around the building. Because the theatre sits in a residential area, parking in the immediate streets is limited.
Parking
The garage the theatre recommends is Q-Park Liesveld, 570 m or about 5–8 minutes' walk, open 24/7 with 398 spaces at €2.25 per 45 minutes and a €12.50 daily maximum. Street parking around the theatre is paid Monday to Saturday, 09:00–19:00, at €2.40 per hour and at most €12.50 a day.
Liesveld is the theatre's own recommendation. The entrance is at Van Riebeeckstraat 30; the garage has a 2.00 m height limit, disabled spaces and card payment only. Q-Park took the garage over recently, so signs and the Q-Park app may lag behind. Q-Park Hoogstraat at Kornelis Speelmanstraat 4 is slightly closer (550 m, 8 min) and costs €1.20 per 30 minutes; Q-Park Stadhuis at Dr. Sacharovplaats 3 (640 m, 9 min) costs €2.25 per 45 minutes. Both have a €12.50 daily maximum. Hoogstraat closes at 21:00 (Mon–Thu) or 22:00 (Fri–Sun), so it is not suitable for late shows.
The free car parks at Broekweg (910 m, 13 min) and Zwembad de Kulk (1,240 m, 17 min) are a longer walk. Blue badge holders can use the disabled space in the Ida Maria de Raathstraat, opposite the theatre. Street machines take coins or cards; the theatre itself is cashless.

About Stadsgehoorzaal Vlaardingen
A two-hall theatre in the centre of Vlaardingen, with a 650-seat main hall, a small hall that is more than 200 years old, and a programme that runs from cabaret and music to family musicals.
Stadsgehoorzaal Vlaardingen stands on Schiedamseweg, a short walk from the old harbour and about 10 minutes from metrostation Vlaardingen Centrum. Its two halls are the Grote Zaal, with 650 seats on an ascending tribune, and the Harmonie, a flat-floor hall with 155 seats on its tribune and room for 200 standing. The programme mixes cabaret, music, musical, theatre, family shows and local amateur productions; the rooms are also hired for presentations, congresses and receptions.
The Grote Zaal opened in 1952 and was designed by Sybold van Ravesteyn. Its restored wall and ceiling ornaments and its yellow seats are part of the theatre's character. The Harmonie goes back more than two centuries, and the building was renovated in 2005.
Since 2015 the Stadsgehoorzaal has worked with De Kroepoekfabriek and KADE40. Together the two Stadspodia host around 400 events and 75,000 visitors a year, with more than 200 volunteers. There is no restaurant in the theatre: the bar opens before and after performances, and the box office is open on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:30 and from an hour before each show.
