How many people fit in each hall?

- Studio
- 168 seats in theatre setup
- 013, Tilburg

The complex has three separate halls, so do not add their capacities together: a performance uses one room. The Schouwburgzaal is the largest, with 850 seats including two balconies. The Concertzaal seats 750, also including two balconies, and its first six rows can be removed or rearranged. The Studio seats 168 on its tribunes in theatre setup and can also be used as a flat-floor room.
For scale, 013, the pop venue nearby, holds 3,000 people; the Koning Willem II Stadion in Tilburg holds 14,637. Both are very different rooms from a theatre, but they show how the halls sit in the city's venue landscape.

Seat map
White available, red selected
You choose a specific seat for the Schouwburg and Concertzaal when you book. The seat map shows available seats in white and your selection in red; the Studio is a flexible room, so its layout depends on the show.
Both main halls have two balconies. In the Schouwburg the balconies are not reached by the lift, so visitors who cannot manage stairs should choose a stalls or loge seat. In the Concertzaal the first six rows can disappear or move for a different stage layout, and the hydraulic stage can be extended.
- Book early for the Schouwburg if you need a stalls or loge seat: the balconies are only reached by stairs.
- In the Concertzaal, rows 1-6 may be missing from the plan when a show uses the extended stage or a standing floor.
- Wheelchair spaces are not sold online; book them through Ticketservice (see Accessibility).
- The standard plans are linked from the ticket FAQ, but the plan in the ticket shop is the one for your performance.
Eating and drinking at the theatre
Stadsfoyer Boove and Stadscafé Benee are the two public spaces in the building. Benee is the café for lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks, with a terrace; Boove is the quieter foyer with high and low seats, free wifi and power sockets. Both are open to visitors and to people who just want a coffee or a table to work.
Benee is open Tuesday to Saturday 09:00-23:00 and Sunday 12:00-18:00; Boove is open Tuesday to Saturday 09:00-18:00 and Sunday 12:00-18:00. Both are closed on Monday. On a list of dates in October, November and December, Benee closes at 17:00.
Reserve a table for Benee; Boove is walk-in. The menus include lunch, bites and dinner, and the café is a good place to eat before an evening show.

- On early-closing dates Benee shuts at 17:00, so check before planning a late lunch or an after-show drink.

Tickets, bags and house rules
The time on your ticket is the start of the performance, not the opening time. The foyer opens an hour before, and the venue asks you to be in your seat by the start; latecomers are generally not admitted and are not refunded.
You do not need to print your ticket: the venue scans it on your phone. Coats and large bags are not allowed in the hall; there are free staffed cloakrooms at the Schouwburg and Concertzaal and an unmanned one at the Studio. Payment at the bars and box office is by pin or contactless.

Every hall has an RF hearing system. Bring your own headphones or borrow a headset or neck loop. Selected performances have live audiodescription and meet-and-feel introductions with Komt het Zien!, and some have surtitles.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the theatre, and which entrance should I use?
The complex is on the Schouwburgring in Tilburg city centre. Schouwburg and Studio are at Louis Bouwmeesterplein 1 (5038 TN); the Concertzaal is at Kloosterstraat 1 (5038 VN). Check the hall on your ticket: it decides which entrance to use. Ticketservice is at Schouwburgring 1, opposite De Carrousel.
How many people does each hall hold?
Schouwburgzaal: 850 seats including two balconies. Concertzaal: 750 including two balconies. Studio: 168 on the tribunes in theatre setup. The halls are separate, so do not add them up; a performance uses one. For comparison, 013 holds 3,000 and the Koning Willem II Stadion 14,637.
Can I choose my own seat?
Yes in the Schouwburg and Concertzaal: you pick a seat on the plan when you book, with white seats available and your selection in red. The Studio is flexible, so its layout depends on the show. If stairs are a problem, avoid the Schouwburg balconies and choose a stalls or loge seat.
What time do shows start and end?
Evening performances I checked start at 20:00, 20:15 or 20:30 and end between 21:30 and 22:45. Matinees I checked start at 14:30 or 15:00 and end at 15:45 or 17:30. Your ticket's start time is definitive, and the foyer opens an hour before.
How do I get there from Tilburg station?
On foot: the venue says 10 minutes; the measured route is 1,080 m, about 15 minutes. By bus: 7 or 8 from the station bus station to Schouwburgring, opposite the theatre. Buses 1 and 2 also stop at Bisschop Zwijsenstraat, 300 m or 5 minutes away.
Where can I park, and what does it cost?
Four P1 garages are within a 10-minute walk: Schouwburg (Louis Bouwmeesterplein 2, 4 min), Koningsplein (Bisschop Zwijsenstraat 2, 4 min, 24/7), Emmapassage/Emmaplein (Paleisring 27-29, 6 min) and Pieter Vreedeplein (Magazijnstraat, 10 min). All charge €2.50 per hour Monday-Friday and €3.50 at the weekend, with a €25 day maximum and €0.50 minimum. The Schouwburg garage has 1.90 m clearance.
Can I book a wheelchair space online?
No. Wheelchair spaces are not sold through the website; contact Ticketservice on 013 5432 220 or [email protected]. Spaces are available in all halls. In the Schouwburg the lift does not reach the balconies, so choose a stalls or loge seat if you need step-free access.
Is there a hearing loop or audiodescription?
All halls have an RF hearing system. Bring your own headphones or borrow a headset or neck loop. Selected performances have live audiodescription and meet-and-feel introductions with Komt het Zien!, and some have surtitles; check the programme filters on the accessibility page.
Can I take a coat or bag into the hall?
No. Coats and large bags are not allowed in the hall for safety. There are free staffed cloakrooms at the Schouwburg and Concertzaal; the Studio has an unmanned cloakroom. Leave a few minutes to check them before the start.
Can I take a drink into the hall?
Yes, drinks are allowed in the hall. The bars use pin or contactless payment, so bring a card, phone or smartwatch.
Is there food at the theatre?
Yes. Stadscafé Benee serves lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-23:00 and Sunday 12:00-18:00. Stadsfoyer Boove is open Tuesday-Saturday 09:00-18:00 and Sunday 12:00-18:00. Both close on Monday, and Benee closes at 17:00 on selected dates. Reserve a table at Benee; Boove is walk-in.
Do children need their own ticket?
Yes. Every visitor needs a valid ticket, including children. The venue follows the age advice of the production; for family shows the stated age is the minimum. Free booster seats are available at the Schouwburg cloakroom and the large bar in the Concertzaal.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. The venue scans the ticket on your phone, so the e-ticket is enough. You do not need a printer.
How do I get home after a late show?
The venue's travel page does not publish last-train or last-bus times. Check the NS or OV journey planner on the day. If public transport has stopped, P1 Koningsplein is open 24/7 and is 4 minutes' walk away, and the covered Dwaalgebied bike storage stays open until 01:00.
