The Rodi Media hall hosts cabaret, music and business events, from congresses to presentations. Toon is the intimate hall for presentations and performances. The building also has multifunctional rooms for 80 people, a meeting room for 15, Café Cool for 250 and foyers for 900.

The whole building can host events for up to 1,000 people. That figure covers the building, not the sum of the halls: pick the room that fits your event rather than adding the capacities together.

For scale, Sportpaleis Alkmaar (4,750) and AFAS Stadion (17,023) in Alkmaar are arena-sized. Cool is a mid-sized theatre and cultural house.

Seating plan

Rodi Media hall or Toon: where will you sit?

Cool has two seated theatre halls. The agenda or your ticket identifies the hall: check whether it says Rodi Media zaal, the main hall, or Toon (Kleine zaal), the intimate one.

Main hall
Rodi Media zaal, about 600 seats
Small hall
Toon, 96 seats
Standing
Up to 900 in the Rodi Media hall
Wheelchair places

Technical plan of Toon (PDF); not a seat-by-seat map

The Rodi Media hall is the main auditorium, with about 600 seats and space for 900 standing. Cabaret, music and the larger productions play here. Toon is the small hall with 96 seats, so the audience is close to the performance.

Both halls are seated. Check your ticket or the agenda before you go in: if it says Toon, go to the small hall rather than the main auditorium.

Cool does not publish a current seat-by-seat visitor map. The official site has a technical plan of the new small hall, Toon (PDF: https://www.coolkunstencultuur.nl/media/1ibj0mbq/plattegrond-kleinezaal-cool-kunst-en-cultuur.pdf), with stage and technical dimensions rather than a seat-by-seat plan.

Wheelchair places are available, each with a seat for a companion.

  • Big production or name cabaret: the Rodi Media hall.
  • Intimate performance or presentation: Toon, the 96-seat small hall.
  • Check the hall on your ticket or the agenda before you travel; De Binding in Zuid-Scharwoude is a different location.

What is the difference between the Rodi Media hall and Toon?
