About this workshop
You combine sashiko embroidery with boro, practising simple running stitches into geometric patterns on blue linen with special Japanese needles and thread.
Boro began as a way to repair and strengthen worn clothing with patches, and the repair stays visible as part of the design, in the spirit of wabi-sabi: beauty in use, simplicity and imperfection.
