About
A documentary about the construction of a new apartment building in Barcelona's El Chino neighbourhood and three old men recalling the area's past.
José Luis Guerín's documentary is set in El Chino, a working-class neighbourhood in Barcelona. Over a year and a half, the film follows the construction of a new apartment building there and records what happens around it. The camera also turns to local residents, among them three elderly men who talk about the neighbourhood as it used to be. Urban renewal forms the background to their memories and to daily life in the area. The film is a Spanish-French documentary.
