About
Two unhoused community leaders in an Oakland homeless camp organize residents facing displacement, addiction and a failing social system.
Wood Street is a documentary set in Oakland, California, where a homeless camp has grown over ten years from a group of tents into a small settlement with a close community. More than three hundred residents live there. When the camp is threatened with clearing, they organize to keep their place and community. Among them are John and LaMonté, two unhoused men who have become community leaders. They bring their neighbors together as they face displacement, addiction and a failing social system.
