About
A Canadian documentary follows young volunteers at a 45-day training camp of Myanmar's People's Defence Force as they prepare to fight for freedom.
White Tiger Column is a Canadian documentary about a training camp of Myanmar's People's Defence Force, set deep in the jungle. After the army overthrew the democratically elected government on 1 February 2021 and met civilian protests with bullets, young volunteers decided to fight for their freedom. A Canadian film crew spent time embedded at the camp, following a group of young people over 45 days. The film shows how these young Generation Z'ers in Guns N' Roses T-shirts are prepared for an unequal struggle: the regime has drones and fighter planes, while the rebels make their explosives in a wok. The camp has a sleeping hut and an improvised kitchen, and the days include chopping wood and searching for coconuts.
