About
After the war, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis become a song-and-dance duo and are asked to see the Haynes sisters' act.
On Christmas Eve 1944 in Europe, Captain Bob Wallace (Bing Crosby) and Private Phil Davis (Danny Kaye) put on a Christmas Eve show for the troops of the 151st Division. Major General Thomas F. Waverly (Dean Jagger) is being reassigned and says farewell before enemy bombers attack the camp. Phil pulls Bob away from a collapsing wall and is slightly wounded. While recovering in the infirmary, Phil proposes that they form a double act; Bob is reluctant but feels obliged to try. After the war the two become the successful song-and-dance team Wallace & Davis, with work in nightclubs and on radio. During a stay in Florida, Bob is asked by an army friend to look at his sisters' singing act. The sisters are Betty (Rosemary Clooney) and Judy Haynes (Vera-Ellen).
