Alice Diop's documentary We follows the RER B, the urban train line that runs through Paris and its northern and southern outskirts. Along the route, the film presents several people and places, moving through the indistinct areas between city and suburb. Among those who appear as themselves are Marcel Balnoas, Ethan Balnoas, Florence Roche, Ismael Soumaïla Sissoko, Bamba Sibi, N'deye Sighane Diop, Pierre Bergounioux and Hawa Camara. The people she encounters include a car mechanic, a district nurse, a writer and a group of hunters. These separate portraits are brought together as parts of a larger whole.
