After a flood in Krumau am Kamp, three infant bodies are found in the cellar of the long-uninhabited Trummler family farm. Two girls and a boy had been buried there. The discoveries reopen old wounds in the village, where the Trummlers have a dark reputation and are considered cursed. Years earlier the family's daughter Claudia disappeared without a trace. Marion Reiter (Regina Fritsch) of the St. Pölten murder squad takes charge of the investigation. She is assigned Ulli Herzog (Julia Franz Richter), an inexperienced but persistent local police officer.
