About
A documentary about New York City delivery workers, including UPS and Amazon drivers, who take on corporations and struggle to form unions.
Union Town is a documentary by Barbara Kopple about delivery workers in New York City. It follows couriers and warehouse workers, including UPS and Amazon drivers, as they confront large corporations and try to organise unions. The film features Juan Acosta, Antoine Andrews, Xavier Asqui, Mamadou Cellou Balde and Peter Benzivenga as themselves. Each day, about 2.4 million packages and 300,000 meals are delivered to homes in the city, while many of the people doing the work remain anonymous to customers and are poorly paid. One grocery courier notes that he knows his customers, but they do not know him.
