About
Navy test pilot Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell returns to Top Gun to train young graduates for a mission to destroy a foreign uranium plant.
More than thirty years after he graduated from Top Gun, U.S. Navy Captain Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is still a test pilot. His reluctance to accept promotion and his clashes with authority have kept him from higher rank. After a flight in the hypersonic Darkstar prototype ends with the aircraft destroyed, he is reassigned to the Top Gun school at NAS North Island. There Maverick is to train a group of young Top Gun graduates for a dangerous mission: destroying an unsanctioned uranium enrichment plant in a foreign country before it becomes operational. Among the pilots is Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Maverick's late friend Goose. He also meets Penny Benjamin (Jennifer Connelly), with whom he had a relationship and who now runs a bar.
