About

Thirteen-year-old Nada lives with her aunt Gara in Montenegro's Sinjajevina highlands, where Gara fights NATO exercises on their grazing land while family trauma surfaces.

In a remote mountain region of Montenegro, thirteen-year-old Nada lives with her aunt Gara in a village in the Sinjajevina range, which holds the country's largest grassland. The area is designated as a NATO training ground, to the dismay of residents whose grazing sheep will have to make way for soldiers. Gara (Mileva Gara Jovanović) leads the protests against the plans. Nada (Nada Stanišić) goes to school in the city and returns regularly. The documentary also follows a more personal thread: domestic violence has affected the women in Gara's family, and as Nada grows up she has to relate to that family trauma. Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić direct.
