About
In The Worst Ones, a director casts four local teenagers for a summer film shoot in Boulogne-sur-Mer, to the surprise of many.
The Worst Ones follows a summer film shoot in the north of France. A director decides to work in the Picasso city in Boulogne-sur-Mer and holds a casting for atypical personalities: young school dropouts, young people with ADHD, foster children and young people leaving home. He selects two girls and two boys: Lilly (Mallory Wanecque), Maylis (Mélina Vanderplancke), Jessy (Loïc Pech) and Ryan (Timéo Mahaut). The choice surprises people locally. Local associations worry about the impossible hopes raised by the easy life of a film crew, while the filmmaker fears reinforcing the stereotypes he wanted to denounce. Ryan, raised by his sister, has attention and hyperactivity disorders and struggles with the school environment despite help from his life assistant.
