The Valiant Ones is a Hong Kong wuxia adventure written, directed and produced by King Hu. It is set in 16th-century China during the Ming dynasty. Along the southern coast, Chinese officials face threats from the wokou, Japanese pirates. They recruit a husband-and-wife swordfighting duo to fight their adversaries. The cast includes Roy Chiao as Yu Da You, Pai Ying as Wu Ji-Yuan, Hsu Feng as Wu Shao Pang and Sammo Hung as Bo Duo-Jin. The film runs 102 minutes.
