About
An accident-prone Indian actor in Hollywood is mistakenly invited to a studio head's lavish dinner party, where his clumsiness causes chaos.
In The Party, Peter Sellers plays Hrundi V. Bakshi, an Indian actor working in Hollywood on a costume epic. His knack for accidents wrecks one scene after another, and when he destroys the set before the cameras roll, the director has him fired. The studio head, Fred R. Clutterbuck, means to put Hrundi on a blacklist, but his name ends up on the guest list for Clutterbuck's lavish dinner party instead. Hrundi arrives at the house and struggles to fit in among the other guests. He meets the Western actor "Wyoming Bill" Kelso, who gives him an autograph. Claudine Longet appears as Michele Monet.
