About
Two women from opposite sides of the Atlantic swap homes at Christmas after bad breakups, and each meets a local man.
The Holiday is a romantic comedy by Nancy Meyers. Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) runs a film trailer company in Los Angeles and has just broken up with her boyfriend Ethan (Edward Burns). In London, Iris Simpkins (Kate Winslet) writes a society column for a newspaper and has long been in love with her colleague Jasper (Rufus Sewell). When Jasper's engagement is announced at the company Christmas party, Iris is devastated. Both women want to spend Christmas far from men. Amanda finds Iris's cottage in Surrey on a home-swap website, and they agree to exchange homes for two weeks. Jude Law plays Graham, Iris's brother, and Jack Black plays Miles.
