About
A New York writer's solitary life is upended when her late friend and mentor leaves her his Great Dane, Apollo.
New York writer and teacher Iris (Naomi Watts) leads a quiet, solitary life until her closest friend and mentor, Walter (Bill Murray), dies and leaves her his Great Dane, Apollo. At the funeral, Walter's third wife Barbara (Noma Dumezweni) asks Iris to take in the senior dog. Iris agrees to care for Apollo temporarily, but the huge animal immediately turns her life upside down, causing problems from destroyed furniture to eviction notices. The arrangement also raises more existential questions for Iris.
