About
A recovering alcoholic leaves his clinic and reconnects with friends and acquaintances while searching for a reason to keep living.
Alain Leroy (Maurice Ronet) has spent four months being treated for alcoholism at Dr. La Barbinais’ clinic in Versailles. He lives apart from his American wife, Dorothy, who is in New York. On his first night away from the clinic he meets Lydia (Léna Skerla), a friend of Dorothy who is visiting France. Lydia says he is cured and suggests he come back to New York with her, but Alain does not want to; because of work she cannot stay, and they part ways. Back at the clinic, Alain keeps to himself. He visits old friends and acquaintances as he looks for a reason to go on living.
