About
An ignored office worker comes face to face with a confident look-alike who starts at his workplace and seems to take over his life.
Simon James (Jesse Eisenberg) has worked at the same office for seven years, where his boss, The Colonel (James Fox), and his colleagues ignore him. From his apartment he watches Hannah (Mia Wasikowska), a co-worker he admires who lives opposite him, and he secretly retrieves the art she throws away. When a confident, charismatic man named James Simon (also Jesse Eisenberg) starts at the office, Simon comes face to face with his exact double. James is socially at ease and assured, everything Simon is not. Simon's feeling of being invisible turns into a nightmare-like reality as he gets the sense that James is taking over his life. The film is based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's 1846 novella The Double.
