About
Countess Erzsébet Báthory and her maid search present-day Vienna for the red elixir of life and a mysterious book while pursuers close in.
In present-day Vienna, Countess Erzsébet Báthory (Isabelle Huppert) and her loyal maid Hermine (Birgit Minichmayr) emerge after decades underground. They want to prevent the end of their vampire realm and set out in search of the red elixir of life and a mysterious book that could wipe out evil. For this, Erzsébet enlists her melancholic nephew Baron Rudi Bubi von Strudl zur Buchtelau (Thomas Schubert), who has decided to live as a vegetarian vampire. His psychotherapist Theobald Tandem (Lars Eidinger) joins them. The group's search leads as far as Bohemia, while a police inspector and two vampirologists take up their trail.
