About
Ted, a talking teddy bear, wants to become a parent, but he must prove in court that he is a person.
Ted, the talking teddy bear voiced by Seth MacFarlane, marries his girlfriend Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth). After a year, their marriage is marked by constant arguing, and a colleague suggests that having a child could help. Ted and Tami-Lynn decide to become parents, but Ted cannot father a child himself, so his best friend John (Mark Wahlberg) helps them search for a sperm donor. To be allowed to become a parent, Ted must prove that he is a person. He and John enlist lawyer Samantha Jackson (Amanda Seyfried), who helps them approach human-rights lawyer Patrick Meighan (Morgan Freeman) to argue for Ted's civil rights.
