About

Captain Picard and the Enterprise-E crew disobey Starfleet orders to confront the Borg, who are threatening Earth in the 24th century.

In the 24th century, Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) wakes from a nightmare about his assimilation by the Borg six years earlier. Starfleet warns him that the cybernetic Borg are threatening Earth. Because Picard is considered too emotionally involved, Starfleet orders the USS Enterprise-E to patrol the Neutral Zone in case of Romulan aggression. On patrol, the crew hears that Starfleet is losing the battle. Picard and his crew disobey orders and set course for Earth, where a Borg cube is holding out against Starfleet vessels. The Enterprise arrives to assist the USS Defiant and Commander Worf (Michael Dorn). Jonathan Frakes directs and plays Commander William T. Riker; Brent Spiner is Data. The cast also includes LeVar Burton as Geordi La Forge, Gates McFadden as Beverly Crusher, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi and James Cromwell as Dr. Zefram Cochrane.
