About
After the 2008 crisis, a debt-hit delivery driver and his home-care nurse wife struggle as he tries self-employment to support their family.
After the 2008 financial crisis, Ricky Turner (Kris Hitchen) and his wife Abby (Debbie Honeywood) are struggling with debt while raising their family in contemporary England. Ricky, who has no education or professional training, sees a chance to become a self-employed delivery driver, running a franchise under his tough employer Maloney (Ross Brewster). To pay for the van the job requires, he persuades Abby to sell the family car, even though she depends on it for her work as a home care nurse. Ricky is under constant pressure to make deliveries on time and faces fines for lateness or mistakes, while Abby finds her demanding job harder without the car. Their children include fifteen-year-old son Seb (Rhys McGowan).
