About
A London medium and her asthmatic husband kidnap a wealthy couple's young daughter to gain fame by helping police find her.
Kim Stanley plays Myra Savage, a medium in London who holds séances at home. Richard Attenborough is her husband Bill, an asthmatic who cannot work and assists her during the sessions. Myra persuades Bill to kidnap Amanda Clayton, the young daughter of a wealthy couple, and to keep the girl in a room in their house. Myra poses as a nurse so that Amanda believes she is in a hospital. The aim is for Myra to gain recognition by helping the police find the missing child; a ransom is also requested.
