About
A small-town man in the big city pretends to be a successful businessman and proposes a publicity stunt with a dangerous climb.
Harold Lloyd plays the Boy, who leaves his small hometown of Great Bend for the big city, promising his girlfriend, the Girl (Mildred Davis), that he will send for her once he has made good. In the city he shares a rented room with his friend Bill (Bill Strother), a construction worker, and earns his living as a shop assistant in a department store, where the floorwalker Mr. Stubbs (Westcott Clarke) is his superior. To the Girl he pretends to be a successful businessman, sending costly presents and, when she visits, acting as if he runs the store. His employer offers a reward to the employee who can bring in more customers, and Harold proposes a publicity stunt: a man climbing the outside of the tall building.
