About
Young Clara receives a nutcracker from the magician Drosselmeyer at a Christmas party and travels with him into a world of magic.
The young Clara is at a Christmas party when she meets Drosselmeyer, a mysterious magician who gives her a nutcracker figure. Once the guests have left and the house is quiet, Clara goes back downstairs to find the doll; she comes across Drosselmeyer instead, and he takes her along into a magical world. There, toys come to life amid strange landscapes, snowdrifts and glittering confectionery.
The Christmas classic is performed in Peter Wright's production, to Tchaikovsky's score and with designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman.
