About

In Barrie Kosky's production of Wagner's Götterdämmerung, set in the present day, Siegfried is tricked into betraying Brünnhilde, with Antonio Pappano conducting.

Wagner's Götterdämmerung brings the epic saga to its finale: a world in ruins, the downfall of the gods. Director Barrie Kosky sets the drama in the present day, in a world of dreamlike turbulence.

Deception leads to betrayal when a trick makes Siegfried betray Brünnhilde. Antonio Pappano, conductor emeritus of the Royal Opera, returns to the podium. The ensemble is led by Elisabet Strid, Andreas Schager and Mika Kares, with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Opera Chorus.
