About
A peasant girl falls in love with Albrecht and learns that he is a nobleman promised to another woman.
Giselle is a peasant girl who has fallen in love with Albrecht. She discovers that he is in fact a nobleman who is promised to another woman, and her world turns upside down. This production of the romantic ballet comes from Peter Wright, whose 1985 staging is a classic in the Royal Ballet's repertoire. Adolphe Adam wrote the score, and John Macfarlane designed the sets, which place the story in both an earthly and an otherworldly world. The main characters are Giselle and Albrecht.
