About
A 17-year-old Palestinian girl must choose a husband from her father's list by afternoon or leave for Egypt; she runs to find Khalil.
Rana, played by Clara Khoury, is a 17-year-old Palestinian girl who wants to marry a man of her own choosing. One morning she receives a letter from her father, Abu Siad (Zuher Fahoum): he plans to move to Egypt and gives her two options. She can go with him and continue her studies there while he keeps an eye on her, or she can remain in Palestine and marry one of the men he has listed. She has ten hours to decide before he leaves at four that afternoon. Shocked and disappointed by the choices, Rana leaves home to look for her lover Khalil (Khalifa Natour), whom her father does not approve of and has not included on the list.
