About
In 1950s London, couturier Reynolds Woodcock takes a young waitress, Alma, as his muse.
In 1950s London, Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) is a renowned haute couture dressmaker whose House of Woodcock creates gowns for high society and royalty. His sister Cyril (Lesley Manville) manages the day-to-day running of the fashion house and tries to keep distractions from his work. Women pass through Reynolds's life as muses and companions until they no longer hold his attention. At a restaurant near his country house, he meets Alma Elson (Vicky Krieps), a young foreign waitress, and invites her to dinner. Their relationship develops, and Alma moves into his home, becoming his model, muse and lover.
