About
Clark Griswold tries to give his family a good old-fashioned Christmas, but relatives, neighbors and 25,000 lights turn the preparations chaotic.
Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) wants to give his family a good old-fashioned Christmas. He drives his wife Ellen (Beverly D'Angelo) and their children Audrey (Juliette Lewis) and Rusty (Johnny Galecki) into the countryside to choose a tree, and they take the largest one they can find. Without tools, they uproot it instead. Back home, the Griswolds prepare a celebration with relatives, whose bickering quickly annoys the family. Their plans also cause growing chaos for their neighbors Todd and Margo Chester. Clark keeps his spirits up while he covers the house with 25,000 lights, and he is counting on his Christmas bonus.
