About
Filmmaker Koert Davidse revisits his brother Bart's life through memories, interviews and artworks, bringing together family and friends in Zeeland.
In the Dutch documentary My Brother, filmmaker Koert Davidse looks back on the life of his brother Bart. At a small cemetery in Zeeland, Bart's traditional, religious family and his friends from Amsterdam's 1980s gay community come together. Davidse uses childhood memories, interviews and Bart's drawings and paintings to reconstruct a free-spirited life. The brothers were once inseparable, but they drifted apart when Bart moved to Amsterdam. Davidse traces the bond between the brothers and the gap between their two lives.
