About

A border-town security guard shelters a Turkish man trying to cross into Hungary and promises to help him the next day.

Nelu (András Hatházi) works as a security guard at a supermarket in Salonta, a small town on the Romanian-Hungarian border. His days follow a routine of fishing at dawn, work, and returning home to the farmhouse he shares with his wife on the outskirts of town, where the old roof needs repair. One morning while fishing, Nelu finds a Turkish man, Behran (Yilmaz Yalcin), who is trying to cross the border and evade the border guards. Nelu takes him to the farmhouse and gives him dry clothes, food and shelter, though he does not really know how to help him. Behran offers Nelu all the money he has if Nelu will help him cross. Nelu accepts and promises to help him cross the border tomorrow.
