About
A forest guardian falls for a human musician who enters her enchanted realm to find the Source of Life.
Mavka: The Forest Song is a Ukrainian animated fantasy based on Lesya Ukrainka's play The Forest Song. The action moves between an enchanted forest and the human world. In the forest, the friendly Mavka (voiced by Natalka Denysenko) becomes the new guardian. The musician Lucas (Artem Pyvovarov), urged by the sawmill owner Kylina (Olena Kravets), enters the forbidden forest to find the Source of Life for his sick uncle Leo (Oleh Mykhailiuta). Kylina wants the source's power for herself. Mavka admires Lucas's music, and feelings grow between them, while Kylina's plans threaten the forest.
