About

An estranged, scarred woman arrives in Hollywood and enters the orbit of actress Havana Segrand and the Weiss family.

In Hollywood, the Weiss family revolves around fame. Dr. Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) is a TV psychologist and self-help guru, while his wife Cristina (Olivia Williams) manages the career of their thirteen-year-old son Benjie (Evan Bird), a child star. Stafford treats actress Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore), who hopes to make a comeback in a remake of a film that made her mother, Clarice Taggart (Sarah Gadon), famous, and who has visions of her mother.

Their circle is disrupted by Agatha Weiss (Mia Wasikowska), Stafford and Cristina's estranged daughter. Scarred by severe burns, she arrives in Los Angeles from Florida and hires limousine driver Jerome Fontana (Robert Pattinson), who wants to become a screenwriter or actor, to take her to the site of Benjie's former house.
