In 2029, an aging Logan cares for ailing Charles Xavier until a young mutant, Laura, arrives pursued by the Reavers.
In 2029, no mutant has been born for 25 years. Logan (Hugh Jackman), now aged and with his healing ability failing, works as a limousine driver in El Paso, Texas. With the mutant tracker Caliban (Stephen Merchant), he cares for an elderly Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) in an abandoned smelting plant in northern Mexico. Charles has dementia that causes destructive telepathic seizures. Logan tries to hide from the world and his legacy. His attempt is upended when a young mutant, Laura (Dafne Keen), arrives, pursued by the Reavers led by Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and Zander Rice (Richard E. Grant). Logan reluctantly agrees to escort Gabriela López (Elizabeth Rodriguez), a former nurse for Alkali-Transigen, and Laura to Eden, a supposed refuge near the American-Canadian border.
