About
After rescuing an orphan in a train crash, railway engineer Sisif raises her with his son, while both men's feelings for her grow.
Railway engineer Sisif (Séverin-Mars) rescues a young orphan, Norma (Ivy Close), after a train crash and raises her alongside his son Elie (Gabriel de Gravone), whose mother died when he was born. Norma grows into a lively young woman, and Elie, now a violin maker, falls in love with her; Norma believes he is her natural brother. Sisif, meanwhile, finds himself drawn to his adopted daughter. He confides in a wealthy colleague, Hersan (Pierre Magnier), about Norma's origins and his feelings. Hersan threatens to blackmail Sisif unless he agrees to give Norma to him in marriage. Norma is reluctant but is moved by the prospect of greater prosperity.
