About

Two middle-class families spend a sweltering summer at a crumbling Argentine country estate, where tensions surface among adults, children and servants.

In the summer heat of Salta, in northwestern Argentina, Mecha (Graciela Borges) and her husband Gregorio (Martín Adjemián) stay with their children at La Mandrágora, the family's run-down country estate. By the dirty pool, Mecha and Gregorio sunbathe and drink wine; inside, their daughters Momi (Sofia Bertolotto) and Verónica (Leonora Balcarce) lounge on a bed. Momi says Mecha wants to fire the servant Isabel, believing Isabel steals towels. After Mecha falls while drunk and injures herself, she is taken to a doctor. Mecha's cousin Tali (Mercedes Morán), who lives with her husband and four children in a modest townhouse, hears about the injury; after a doctor treats their son Luciano, they drive to La Mandrágora.
