About
In 1968 Chicago, a petty thief becomes an FBI informant inside the Black Panther Party, where chairman Fred Hampton is rising.
Chicago, 1968. Bill O’Neal, a young small-time criminal, is arrested after trying to steal a car while posing as a federal agent. FBI special agent Roy Mitchell offers him a way out: he can avoid charges by gathering information for the FBI. O’Neal is sent to the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party, where Fred Hampton is chairman. Hampton speaks out against racist police violence and builds community work such as the Free Breakfast for Children Program. O’Neal gains his trust while reporting back to Mitchell, who pays him. Hampton also falls for fellow party member Deborah Johnson. Daniel Kaluuya plays Hampton, LaKeith Stanfield plays O’Neal, Jesse Plemons is Mitchell and Dominique Fishback is Johnson.
