About
A workaholic father races across Minneapolis on Christmas Eve to find the sold-out Turbo Man action figure his son wants, competing with a rival dad.
Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a workaholic mattress salesman in Minneapolis who struggles to make time for his wife Liz (Rita Wilson) and nine-year-old son Jamie (Jake Lloyd). After he misses Jamie's karate class graduation because Officer Hummel (Robert Conrad) pulls him over, Howard resolves to make it up by buying the Turbo Man action figure Jamie wants for Christmas. Liz had asked him to buy the toy two weeks earlier, but he forgot. Their neighbor Ted Maltin (Phil Hartman), a divorcé who has unrequited feelings for Liz, often makes Howard look bad.
On Christmas Eve, Howard finds every store sold out. His search brings him into conflict with Myron Larabee (Sinbad), a postal worker father after the same toy.
