About
Palestinian filmmaker Serene Husni returns in 2016 to Jenin, filming the city and refugee camp and speaking with residents about the Nakba.
Serene Husni is a Palestinian filmmaker who lives in the diaspora. In 2016 she returns for the first time to Jenin, the city where her parents were born. They left when Israel occupied the West Bank in 1967. In Jenin she begins a portrait of the city today, filming the city, surrounding villages and the refugee camp. She also speaks with residents about the Nakba, the large-scale displacement of Palestinians in 1948, and about how that history remains present in their lives.
