About

Filmmaker Mahsa Karampour tries to reconnect with her brother Siavash, a former Tehran punk frontman, as their lives diverge across continents.

Filmmaker Mahsa Karampour tries to find common ground with her brother Siavash, whose adventurous life she finds hard to understand. Siavash was the frontman of The Yellow Dogs, a band in Tehran's underground punk circuit. Bahman Ghobadi gave the group a place in his 2009 film No One Knows About Persian Cats, which was shown at Cannes. The attention that followed led Siavash and his bandmates to leave Iran and settle in New York. Mahsa had also left Iran and was living in Paris. She has just become a French citizen, while her brother is about to become an American one. Far from their native Iran, brother and sister try to stay in contact.
