About
A thief who steals secrets from dreams is hired to plant an idea in a target's mind, in exchange for a chance to go home.
Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his partner Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) are professional thieves who use experimental dream-sharing technology to enter other people's subconscious and extract information. Their target, the businessman Saito (Ken Watanabe), is impressed by Cobb's ability to build dreams within dreams. He offers Cobb a job: instead of stealing an idea, Cobb must plant one in the mind of Robert Fischer Jr. (Cillian Murphy), the son of Saito's competitor, so that Fischer will dissolve his father's conglomerate. In exchange, Saito promises to clear Cobb's criminal record and let him return home to his children. Cobb accepts and recruits the forger Eames (Tom Hardy), the chemist Yusuf (Dileep Rao) and the architecture student Ariadne (Elliot Page). Together they prepare a three-level dream structure. Tom Berenger appears as Peter Browning.
