About

Over ten years, a documentary follows Gabin Jourdel, expected to take over his father's butcher shop, as he looks for a path of his own.

Maxence Voiseux follows Gabin Jourdel for ten years in this documentary, as he grows up in the countryside of northern France. Gabin is the youngest child of the Jourdel family and is expected to take over his father's butcher shop one day, but he is torn between loyalty to his family and the wish to go his own way. Becoming a butcher does not appeal to him; he would rather work with living animals, talk about his feelings, cuddle his favourite cows and play video games. The film watches him between his mother's cattle and his father's butcher's shop, while his parents fight to keep their business running. Patricia Jourdel, Dominique Jourdel, Lilou Duflos-Lamotte and Catherine Ranson appear in the film.
