About
A Kinshasa bar singer struggles to raise money for her injured son's operation and reluctantly accepts help from a bar regular.
Félicité, played by Véro Tshanda Beya Mputu, is a proud and independent woman who works as a singer in a bar in Kinshasa. When her fourteen-year-old son is injured in a motorcycle accident and taken to hospital, her life is thrown into turmoil. She needs money for an operation and searches the streets of Kinshasa for help. There she meets Tabu, played by Papi Mpaka, a regular at the bar who offers his assistance. She accepts only reluctantly. Set in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the film was directed by Alain Gomis.
